That is incorrect. Let me clear this up: I hope that it doesn’t “seem” like I’m against this particular HCR—I’m just as much against it as President Obama is for it. You’re damn right I’m against it. Here’s why.
1. Government did not make this country great, freedom did. Capitalism did. Not government regulation. No one ever succeeded by receiving government bailouts all their life. This is just the first step of many towards a Socialist America, or as I like to call it: the U.S.S.A. When the government takes away MY freedom to choose whether or not I insure my health that is a breach of liberty destroyed by the tyranny that is the Obama administration. When the government takes MY money that I work hard for without MY permission and they tell me that they think they can spend MY money better than I can, I’m going to call foul.
2. I don’t want my hard earned money to be taken away from me and given to Fatty McFatso that lives on welfare, smokes 8 packs of cigarettes a day, drinks whiskey from the bottle, and eats chicken fat off the floor. All so Fatty doesn’t have to give up his cable TV, his cell phone, and his unhealthy addictions to be able to afford health insurance.
3. If the government is going to impose this tax on the American people, the American people need a say in it. I understand that each state elects the people to represent that particular state, however when 73% of the American people did and don’t want this HCR there is a problem and we as Americans are not being heard.
4. Your arm gets cut off. You go to the ER. How long do you wait? Probably not very long. What happens when ANYONE can go to the ER for ANYTHING because it doesn’t cost anyone any money anymore? “Your arm is missing? That sucks. It shouldn’t be more than a 2-3 month wait to see the surgeon.”
5. This HCR bill funds abortion. I do not support abortion, and neither do several other millions of Americans. Federal funding of abortion doesn’t matter to some Americans but to those of us with consciences, it does.
6. “But what about the 36 million uninsured people in America that can’t afford health insurance?!! People that live in the richest country in the world shouldn’t have to go without health insurance!” Let’s break that down. Of those 36 million uninsured Americans, 18 million of them (that’s 50%) have an annual income of at least $50,000 a year. Of those 18 million people, half of them have annual incomes of 75,000 or more. I can guarantee you that none of those people live without their cell phones, their cable TV, their restaurant dining, or their Starbucks every morning. America is not *necessarily* the richest country in the world. If I have a Porsche in my driveway but I can’t afford the minimum payments does that make me rich? No, that makes me the OPPOSITE of rich. That is what this HCR is doing to America. America already owns a Porsche it can’t afford, and now America is trying to book a vacation to Fiji and saying that it will “lower our deficit.” WE CAN’T AFFORD A VACATION TO FIJI. We can’t even afford a bottle of Fiji water.
7. The choice of healthcare (or the lack of one now) is only the first of many rights we are about to lose as Americans under President Obama. First, it’s this. Next, the President will tell us where we can and can’t shop. He’ll tell us where we can go to school and where we can’t. He’ll regulate the cars we drive and the food we eat. “That’s not true! That would never happen here! This is America!” It can and will happen here if good people remain silent about things that matter.
So there you have it. I’m against it because it raises our nearly unsustainable deficit, it raises our taxes substantially, and I’m mostly against it because it takes away our American liberty.
REMEMBER: SOCIALISM ONLY WORKS UNTIL YOU RUN OUT OF OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY TO SPEND!
